What We've Accomplished




The Partnership is committed to ending homelessness in metropolitan Chicago. We have:

• Helped create a collective visionChicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Jennifer Nelson, Associate Director of Interfaith House, at the Partnership's Annual Meeting 2003. in Chicago for ending homelessness

• Worked to create a planning body—The Chicago Continuum of Care—to bring together service providers, government and key allies

• Provided leadership in creating Chicago's 10-year plan to end homelessness

• Worked to gain key political allies in the movement, including:

      • Mayor Richard M. Daley
      • Congressmembers Jan Schakowsky, Danny Davis, and Bobby Rush
      • Philip Mangano, executive director of the U.S. Interagency Council
          on Homelessness
      • Joseph Galvan, regional director of the U.S. Interagency Council on
          Homelessness
      • State Representatives Duncan, Fritchey, Bailey, Yarborough, Soto,
          and Jones
      • State Senators Ronan, Hendon, Lightford, and Hunter
      • Aldermen Burnett, Natarus, Colon, Shiller, Mitts, and Ed Smith

• Employed members' expertise to affect public policy on the CHA plan for transformation

• Helped members begin to transition their services according to the 10-year plan to end homelessness
